THE WINE
Valduero Dos Maderas Crianza is a red wine from Ribera del Duero, Spain, aged for 30 months in two types of oak barrels-first in American oak, then in French oak-hence its name "Dos Maderas" (Two Woods). After barrel aging, it rests for another 18 months in the bottle. It is a structured, elegant wine crafted for long aging, showcasing the essence of the region's tradition and complexity.
VARIETAL COMPOSITION
100% Tempranillo
VINEYARD NOTES
The vineyards are located at high altitudes (around 800 meters) in Ribera del Duero, with poor, rocky soils that naturally limit yields and enhance grape concentration. Valduero practices dry farming and avoids the use of chemical fertilizers, relying on organic methods. The climate is continental with strong temperature variations, contributing to the balance of ripeness and acidity.
TASTING NOTES
On the nose, this wine offers deep aromas of blackberries, dried figs, tobacco, and leather, with hints of spices and cedar from oak aging. On the palate, it is full-bodied and smooth, with well-integrated tannins, complex layers of dark fruit, earthy undertones, and a long, refined finish. Ideal for pairing with grilled meats, aged cheeses, or hearty stews.
