THE WINE
Domaine Faiveley's Nuits-Saint-Georges "Les Montroziers" showcases a celebrated village lieu-dit newly highlighted in the range. Pinot Noir from organically farmed, east-facing clay-limestone delivers a poised, terroir-transparent expression. Gentle extraction and 14 months in French oak (20-30% new) emphasize finesse over weight, weaving red fruit, floral lift and a graphite-spiced frame. This is an elegant, seductive NSG with the house's trademark precision and a modern, polished texture.

VINEYARD NOTES
The 4.84-hectare Les Montroziers plot-planted across decades from 1928 onward-lies on classic Côte de Nuits clay-limestone with eastern exposure. Organic practices and strict selection keep yields in check for concentration and purity. Grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed in part, and vinified to protect fruit delicacy. Ageing lasts 14 months in French oak barrels, 20-30% new, before bottling. The site's soils and exposure deliver structure, freshness and savory dimension within a silk-textured frame.
TASTING NOTES
Aromas of ripe red cherry, wild strawberry and pomegranate mingle with rose, subtle oak spice and a hint of graphite. The palate is medium-bodied and finely woven, with velvety tannins and a cool, mineral thread that lends precision. Red-fruited energy carries through the mid-palate, layered with tea leaf and underbrush complexity. The finish is long, refined and savory, inviting another sip. Ideal with duck breast, roast chicken and earthy mushroom dishes; versatile across refined cuisine.
