THE WINE
Classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape from the Maret family, assembled from multiple parcels to layer fruit, spice and depth. The 2020 season delivered ripe, pure Grenache at the core, supported by Syrah and Mourvèdre for color, structure and savory complexity. Traditional vinification with large-format aging polishes tannins without masking terroir. The result is a poised, generous rouge that marries Mediterranean warmth with freshness and refined, stone-tinged length.
VARIETAL COMPOSITION
Grenache 70%, Syrah 15%, Mourvèdre 15%.
VINEYARD NOTES
Parcels lie across the appellation's mosaic of red clays, rolled pebbles and sandy soils, each bringing nuance-scented lift, texture and minerality. Farmed organically and hand-harvested, the lots are vinified separately before blending. Elevage in foudres and barrels integrates components while preserving brightness of fruit. Exposure to Mistral winds and broad diurnal shifts promote healthy canopies and concentration, yielding a wine of detail, balance and aging promise.
TASTING NOTES
Expressive nose of ripe raspberry, black cherry and plum layered with garrigue–thyme, lavender-plus licorice, cocoa and a touch of leather. The palate is supple yet structured, with polished tannins and a core of red-black fruit framed by peppery spice. Medium-full body balanced by fresh acidity. Persistent finish carries herbs de Provence, dark chocolate and warm stone.
