THE WINE
Contemporary Napa Valley Cabernet Franc crafted by the Titus family. Batch-fermented for clarity and texture, it marries ripe black fruit with lifted florals and savory nuance. Oak élevage is applied with restraint to polish tannins and frame spice, while preserving freshness and varietal purity. Precision and balance define the style: concentrated yet graceful, with a nod to Right Bank finesse translated through Napa sunlight. Suitable for collectors and lists seeking a modern, terroir-focused Franc.
VARIETAL COMPOSITION
Cabernet Franc 80%, Merlot 8%, Cabernet Sauvignon 6%, Malbec 6%.
VINEYARD NOTES
Sourced from Titus estate parcels near St. Helena and the cooler Sugarloaf Mountain area in South Napa. Alluvial and volcanic-influenced soils deliver structure and aromatic drive. Hand-harvested fruit was sorted, destemmed and fermented by lot, then matured in a mix of French and American oak with a measured new-oak component. Warm, dry 2022 conditions were tempered by evening breezes, yielding ripe phenolics with vivid acidity and fine, chalk-edged tannins.
TASTING NOTES
Bright aromas of pomegranate, raspberry and dark cherry layered with violet, tobacco leaf and a graphite thread. On the palate, sleek blackcurrant and cocoa meet savory herbs and a touch of cedar. Medium-plus body, silky entry and detailed tannins glide into a long, mineral-tinged finish of blackberry, spice and dried rose.
