Celebrating the year in which Cantine San Marzano was founded (1962), this Riserva is aged for 18 months in barriques to express all the strength and richness of the slightly overripe Primitivo grapes. An intense and complex wine, full-bodied and remarkably persistent, soft and rich in fine tannins.
Production area: Very old vineyards selected in San Marzano and Sava (TA), Salento Puglia. The climate is characterized by high temperatures all year round, very little rainfall and a wide temperature range between night and day, which has a positive influence on the quality of the grapes. This is the central area of the DOP ”Primitivo di Manduria”
Tasting notes: Intense ruby red color; wide and complex to the nose, fruity with prune and cherry jam aroma, notes of tobacco and slightly spicy. A full-bodied wine, soft and rich in fine tannins, with notes of cocoa, coffee and vanilla in the end.
