THE WINE
Mauro Cosecha, produced by Bodegas Mauro in the Duero Valley (Castilla y León, Spain), is a vibrant and intense young red wine. It is crafted mainly from Tempranillo with small amounts of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Graciano. Known for its deep, purple-black hue and concentrated flavor profile, this wine expresses ripe black fruit and exotic spice notes.
VARIETAL COMPOSITION
80% tempranillo, 20% syrah, cabernet sauvignon and graciano
VINEYARD NOTES
Bodegas Mauro was founded in 1980 by Mariano García near Tudela de Duero. The estate spans around 90 hectares of old vines (average age ~35 years), planted on calcareous-clay soils with low yields (3,000-5,000 kg/ha). The vineyard is managed organically and biodynamically, reflecting a terroir-driven philosophy. Harvesting is done plot-by-plot starting mid-September, using 13 kg boxes to preserve fruit quality, then cooled before fermentation
