THE WINE
Altesino Brunello di Montalcino is a prestigious Italian red wine produced in the Montalcino region of Tuscany. Established in 1970, Altesino has been instrumental in pioneering modern winemaking techniques in the area, including introducing the concept of "cru" wines and using barriques for aging. Their Brunello di Montalcino is renowned for its elegance, balance, and aging potential, reflecting the unique terroir of the region.

VARIETAL COMPOSITION
100% Sangiovese

VINEYARD NOTES
The vineyards of Altesino are situated on the southeastern hills of Montalcino at altitudes ranging from 200 to 400 meters above sea level. The soils are primarily composed of marl, clay, and limestone, providing excellent drainage and mineral content. The Mediterranean climate, with its warm days and cool nights, allows for optimal ripening of the Sangiovese grapes, enhancing their aromatic qualities and acidity.

TASTING NOTES
Altesino Brunello di Montalcino typically exhibits a brilliant ruby-red color that deepens with age. On the nose, it offers an intense bouquet of red berries, black cherries, violets, and subtle notes of spice and tobacco. The palate is full-bodied and well-structured, with flavors of ripe plum, dried herbs, and a hint of earthiness. Firm tannins and vibrant acidity provide balance, leading to a long, persistent finish with nuances of leather and balsamic.
