THE WINE
Susana Balbo Wines, formerly known as Dominio del Plata, is the family winery of Argentina's first female winemaker, Susana Balbo. Established in 1999 and located in the Agrelo sub-region of Mendoza, the winery is renowned for its innovative approach and commitment to quality. "Brioso" is one of their flagship wines, consistently showcasing exceptional quality with each vintage. Recent vintages have aimed for a more European style, focusing on traditional Bordeaux characteristics.

VARIETAL COMPOSITION
50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Malbec, 18% Cabernet Franc, 9% Petit Verdot

VINEYARD NOTES
The grapes for Brioso are sourced from Susana Balbo's estate vineyards in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, within the Mendoza region. This area is renowned for its high-quality wine production, benefiting from optimal climatic conditions and soil composition. The vineyards are situated at an elevation that provides a unique microclimate, contributing to the distinct characteristics of the wine.

TASTING NOTES
Brioso presents a deep, bright ruby red color, indicative of its richness. On the nose, it offers aromas of dark berries, spices, and subtle vegetal notes, primarily contributed by the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The palate is broad and creamy, with mellow freshness and a juicy flow. The bold expression is sculpted by tannins from the wood, which also underwrite the long, flavorful finish.
This wine pairs excellently with red meats such as lamb, venison, and goat, as well as white meats like chicken, duck, and rabbit.
