Matarromera Crianza is not just a wine; it’s almost a cult. It’s first vintage, 1994, was crowned Best Wine in the World at an international competition by the International Wine Organization of Spain (OIVE). Since then, this 100% Tempranillo has been one of Matarromera’s hallmarks.
It comes from vineyards very close to the Duero River that produce high quality grapes. They are located in the municipalities of Olivares and Valbuena de Duero, in Valladolid, one of the most ideal areas for winemaking in Spain.
It displays a dark cardinal color with abundant purple tones. Very covered, clean, and shiny. Aromas with intensity and complexity, where powerful aromas of very ripe black fruits such as blackberries, blackcurrants, cherries, and currants stand out, in excellent harmony with spicy notes from clean wood aging, with toasted, licorice, coffee, and vanilla.
