THE WINE
Les Sinards is Famille Perrin's other Châteauneuf-du-Pape, sourced principally from young Beaucastel vines and two neighboring sites. The style is refined and immediate, with Grenache at the core for generous red fruit, supported by Syrah and Mourvèdre to add color, spice and structure. Traditional vinification and foudre ageing aim to polish tannins while preserving a clear sense of place. Elegant, approachable and true to the appellation, it suits fine dining programs seeking lift and authenticity.
VARIETAL COMPOSITION
Grenache - Mourvèdre - Syrah
VINEYARD NOTES
Created from three origins within the appellation: young vines at Château de Beaucastel (under 20 years), a south-west-facing Syrah parcel at Clos de Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and Le Grès, planted to Grenache on round galets that store daytime heat and release it at night. Terroirs include Miocene marine deposits with alpine alluvium and a portion of Urgonian limestone. Harvested and vinified by variety, the wine is assembled, then aged two years in large oak foudres to harmonize fruit, spice and texture.
TASTING NOTES
Deep garnet. Aromas of ripe cherry and plum intertwine with garrigue-thyme, lavender— peppercorn, licorice and a hint of dark chocolate. The palate is full and silky, offering red and black fruit wrapped in supple, well-knit tannins. Freshness carries the flavors while savory notes add dimension. The finish is long, gently mineral and warm-stoned. Versatile at the table: think roasted lamb, duck breast with spice, truffled poultry or aged cheeses. Best between 5-10 years from release.
